Driver Requirements
A valid driver's license is all that is needed to drive one of our rental units. Minimum age for rental or driver of rental is 25. Only drivers listed on the contract are eligible to drive. A photocopy of the driver's licenses of all drivers listed on the contract will be taken at check in.

Booking Rental

A $500 deposit is required to confirm a booking.  Final payment is due 30 days before pick up of the unit.  If less than 30 days to pick up date, full payment is required to book.


Rental rates include insurance coverage and 150 kilometers per day.  A preparation fee of $75, and a 13% HST tax are not included in daily rates


Islander RV Sales and Rentals provides $2 million public liability on all its vehicles as well as collision coverage. There is a $750 deductible for collision or third party damages. This insurance will not apply if an unauthorized driver is involved in an accident, if the driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol or if damage caused to the vehicle is the result of driver negligence.

We will make every effort to provide the customer with the model requested. If for any reason the vehicle is not available, Islander RV Sales and Rentals reserves the right to substitute a vehicle of similar or greater value. If a lower rated vehicle is to be offered, Islander RV Sales and Rentals is limited to refunding the cost difference between the two units.



Cancellation Policy




Cancellation policy:

Booked and cancelled within 5 days

Over 30 days prior to departure $100
30 - 15 days prior to departure $250
14 - 8 days prior to departure $500
7 - Departure Day / no show

100% of the rental charge



Security Deposit


$750 refundable deposit will be taken by credit card the day before pick up of the motor home rental using the credit information on file.  This deposit will be refunded in full at drop-off time if conditions of rental have been met. 

Loss or partial loss of security deposit may be incurred due to the following:
*$75 per hour for late drop-off
*up to $250 if the interior has not been cleaned (excluding normal wear)
*costs related to missing or damaged contents of unit
*$50 per tank for failure to dump holding tanks
*$25 for failure to fill each gas or propane tank plus cost to fill up
*up to $750 for insurance deductible should an accident occur
*any outstanding traffic tickets incurred during RV rental. (Non-reporting of parking/traffic violations breaches contract and may result in an administrative charge in addition to fines.
*$0.29 per kilometer above number of kilometers on rental contract
*all charges related to damage caused by negligence
13% HST is added to all charges


Convenience kits are available at a cost of $80 plus HST. Convenience Kits And Basic Supplies  Kit for additional person available at $35




Pets


Sorry, no pets are allowed except for one unit which is reserved for clients who would like to travel with their pets.



Smoking



All our units are non-smoking units.  If an odour of tobacco smoke is detected inside the unit, the $750 damage deposit may be forfeited.
 



Pick-up  and return of rental unit

There will be no drop-off or pick-up on Sundays or designated holidays; May 22, May 24, July 1, Sept.4, Sept. 6, Oct. 9 & Oct. 11
 

Pick-up time is from 2 pm. - 4 pm.


There will be a vehicle familiarization tour (~30 minutes-1hour) which will be given to each customer before departure to acquaint them with specifics related to the proper operation of the recreational vehicle.


Drop-off is from 8am. - 11am, Mon - Fri, 9am - 11am on Sat   (Drop off means that the rental unit is on the lot, all personal contents have been removed, and the RV is available for cleaning).


Please note : There will be a charge of $75 per hour  fee for late drop-off.
There will be no refunds for late pickups or early returns.


Motor home must be returned in a reasonable clean condition.  (Client is not expected to wash the outside of the RV or clean the linen)

Gas and propane must be returned full or reading as on pickup of the unit - if these tanks are reading lower,  the customer will be charged with the cost of filling tank(s) as per pick up of the unit plus a $25 surcharge per tank. 

All holding tanks must be fully dumped before return of rental RV. There will be a $50 charge per tank if holding tanks are not dumped upon return.


Maintenance and Breakdown Responsibility
The customer is responsible for checking engine oil at each refuelling as well as reporting any mechanical failures. Mechanical repairs that are not due to driver negligence will be covered by Islander RV Sales and Rentals. Any repair up to $50 can be paid by the renter and will be reimbursed at drop off upon presentation of receipt. Repairs over $50 must have prior authorization. Islander RV Sales and Rentals will not be responsible for any incidental or consequential costs.

In the event the vehicle breaks down, the responsibility of Islander RV Sales and Rentals is limited to refund of daily rate or portion thereof. Radio, television, DVD player, tape or CD player, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave and appliances, cruise control,  are not considered breakdowns and no refunds available for repair time to these items.


After the RV Rental orientation,, the customer will be asked to sign a contract which states that s/he is satisfied with the orientation as well as the cleanliness and overall condition of the rental RV.
